Seller Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 12, 2026

These Seller Terms supplement the K12.io Terms of Service and govern selling apps on the K12.io marketplace. By listing an app for sale, you agree to these terms.

1. The Deal

  • You set your own prices, in USD. Marketplace checkout supports one-time purchases.
  • You keep the charged total minus K12.io's 30% platform fee. The fee is 30% of what the buyer actually pays — if a buyer uses a promotion code, the fee shrinks proportionally along with your share.
  • When bundles become available, a bundle discount will reduce each seller's share and the platform fee proportionally — sellers will never be penalized for being bundled.
  • Your share is paid out through Stripe Connect, as described in the Stripe Connected Account disclosure.

2. Payouts

  • You must connect a Stripe account and complete Stripe's identity verification before you can receive payouts.
  • Payouts go to the bank account on your Stripe connected account, on Stripe's payout schedule: payouts are sent weekly — K12.io does not hold seller funds.
  • You are responsible for the tax obligations on your marketplace income.

3. Listing Rules

  • Describe your app accurately. Do not misrepresent what it does or what data it handles.
  • Do not bake real student or staff personal data into a published app.
  • You retain ownership of your apps. By publishing, you grant K12.io a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute them, and you grant each buyer the full ownership rights stated in the Terms of Service: every purchase is a perpetual license to the complete app.
  • Do not list apps that infringe anyone's intellectual property or that are unlawful or inappropriate for educational settings.

4. Refunds and Chargebacks

  • If a purchase is fully refunded, the buyer's licence is deactivated and your payout for that sale may be reversed or debited through Stripe.
  • You are liable for chargebacks against your sales; Stripe handles the dispute process and its outcome controls. If a dispute is decided against you, the buyer's licence is deactivated, as with a full refund.

5. Removal

K12.io may remove a listing or suspend a seller account for violations of these terms, the main Terms of Service, or the listing rules. Buyers who already purchased a removed app keep the ownership rights they bought.

6. Changes

We may update these Seller Terms. Material changes are announced by email or prominent notice; continued selling after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
